Hello, Mia here with a Saturday Soother
🫠 Let’s just say it…
You could be doing everything “right” —
✅ Work project submitted early
✅ Dinner on the table
✅ You even remembered it’s library day
…and still feel like you’re losing.
That lingering sense of I’m behind?
It’s not because you’re doing something wrong.
It’s because you’re carrying an invisible checklist that never ends.
😓 The Spiral Starts Small
It hit me last Tuesday at 8:07 AM.
My inbox was already groaning.
My kid’s socks didn’t match (he didn’t care, I did).
And my brain was cycling through a lovely loop of:
“You forgot to RSVP to the birthday thing.”
“You should really meditate more.”
“You haven’t posted in three days — the algorithm hates you now.”
“Also... is it garbage day?”
None of these things were emergencies.
But each one poked a little hole in my peace.
And by lunch?
I felt like I was failing. At everything.
Even though, objectively, I was... doing pretty great.
That’s when I realized:
Feeling behind isn’t about your to-do list. It’s about your too-much list.
🧩 The Invisible Checklist You Didn't Know You Had
Here’s what most high-functioning, heart-centered women/men are silently measuring themselves against:
Be successful, but not too ambitious
Be present with your kids, but also crush your career
Be grateful, but also glow up
Be organized, spontaneous, hydrated, and maybe even hot? 😅
And underneath it all:
👉 Never let anything drop.
But here’s the truth no one told us:
You’re not failing. You’re filtering reality through impossible expectations.
Let’s fix that.
🧠 The “3-Drop Rule”: How to Redefine a Successful Day
This one’s simple. Not easy, but simple.
🎯 Step 1: Name What Will Drop
Every day, something is going to slip.
So instead of pretending you’re superhuman, decide:
What can I intentionally let go of today?
Examples:
“I won’t fold the laundry — clean is good enough.”
“We’re doing takeout. Full stop.”
“That reply can wait until tomorrow.”
🧮 Step 2: Limit Yourself to 3 Drops
Don’t burn down your whole life, just lighten the load.
Pick three things and release them.
That’s it.
Why three?
It’s enough to feel meaningful
But not so much that your inner perfectionist throws a tantrum
✍️ Step 3: Call It a Win — Out Loud
Actually say (or write):
“I dropped ____, ____, and ____ today… on purpose.”
That shift from accidental failure → intentional release?
Game. Changer.
🪴 The Big Lesson
You're not lazy.
You're not behind.
You're not doing it wrong.
You're just trying to meet 100 competing standards in a body that needs rest, care, and room to breathe.
So give yourself permission to let a few things drop, before they drop you.

🧠 Say It With Me:
“I choose what drops — so I don’t.” 🪶
💛 Try This Tonight
Right before bed, ask yourself:
📝 “What are 3 things I’m not carrying tomorrow?”
Write them down.
Breathe.
And go to sleep a little lighter.
You’ve got this. And I’ve got you.
